Article:   WHAT IS (STILL) THE MAN? CONCEPTUAL CLARIFICATION AND CONFLICTS OF VALUES.

Authors:  CĂLIN SĂPLĂCAN.

Abstract:  What is (still) the man? Conceptual clarifications and conflicts of values. What is (still) the human person? This challenging question animated a meeting at the Center for Bioethics at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Inexhaustible question which can be approached from multiple perspectives: biological, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural, etc. As an ethicist I felt the need for conceptual clarification, which would allow not only solving (at least partially) values conflicts, but will allow the disciplines to clarify their own fields. This is, in fact, the purpose of this presentation.
