Rezumat:  The Contact Region between the Apuseni Mountains and the Transylvanian Basin (Ampoi-Someşul Mic Sector). The Regional Chorotype. An important step in spatial organization studies is, undoubtedly, the process of refining space reality into its most elementary structures - the choremes. They can be seen as spatial models that make up the unique “spatial grammar” of any territory. The space scientists can use them as tools in the process of deciphering and understanding space structures and functionality as well as for predicting future trends of its evolution. The reverse process – recomposing space from its elementary structures- gives the opportunity to see the territorial assemblage as a whole and visualize its evolutionary trend. In other words the scientist draws the regional chorotype - a geometrical and realistic image of the geographical reality. Our case study – the transitory space between the Transylvanian Basin and Apuseni Mts. can be included in the category of bipolar territorial entities, being controlled by two peripheral supra-regional poles. Between these poles, two alignments of several second and third order demographic poles make up a first order-privileged axis with a longitudinal direction. The position of the spatial “synapses” as in-out places for the regional fluxes, the development of positive tropism areas as well as regressive spatial systems, the arrangement of the “belt structures” etc. define the main structural, functional and morphological feature- the anisotropy.
