Rezumat:  The difference between journalism and literature is characterized by more than just the difference between facts and fiction. The two genres have also different expressions, different criteria for truth and relevance, and different priorities. It has often been said that journalism bore the same relationship to literature as photography did to art. Journalism takes kaleidoscopic impressions from which literature gleans the best and the most lastig to transform into permanent expression. Due to the main characteristics of literature and journalism, a new style of writing emerged, compiling features from both styles, literary and journalistic. This new genre of writing is known as literary journalism or creative nonfiction and it uses literary styles and techniques to create factually accurate narratives.

Key Words: journalism, literature, narrative journalism, literary journalism.
